Is this visa for you?

Vietnamese passport holders on a business trip to Japan, up to 90 days.

Who can apply

People living in Singapore with an Employment Pass, S Pass, Dependant's Pass or PR. Your pass must be valid for the whole trip and your return to Singapore. If you live in your home country, apply at the Japanese embassy there; we can't help with that.

What you can do

Business.

How long it takes

1 week or longer; no express service. Your passport is held while it is processed.

Before you apply

You need an invitation letter from the person or company you are visiting in Japan. Japan allows only you, an adult family member who lives in Singapore, or a company representative to submit the paper application. Bank statements must be issued by a Singapore bank and show SGD transactions (the last 2 months, all pages) for paper applications from 1 December 2026. Need a multiple-entry visa? Ask us on WhatsApp.

FAQs

Who submits my application?

You, an adult family member who lives in Singapore, or a company representative. The paper application is handed in at the Japan Visa Application Centre, and Japan does not allow third-party submission by anyone else. We can go through your documents with you before it is handed in.

How early should I apply?

Japan says processing takes 1 week or longer, and cases it refers to Tokyo can take much longer. There is no express service, and the Japan Visa Application Centre holds your passport while the application is processed. Apply within 3 months of your trip, and plan around any other trips that need your passport.

What will I pay Japan?

Japan's visa fee depends on your passport. The price card lists it once we have confirmed it for your passport; until then it is confirmed before you pay. On top of it, the VFS service fee is SGD 22.00, which is not refunded. You pay Japan and VFS directly, not us.

Can I apply myself?

Yes. You apply yourself at the Japan Visa Application Centre and pay Japan and VFS directly. If you would like us to check your documents and guide you through it, our service fee is SGD 100.00 per traveller, and we give half our fee (SGD 50.00) back if Japan refuses your visa.

Is the online eVISA right for my trip?

No. The JAPAN eVISA is only for sightseeing. A business trip needs a paper application at the Japan Visa Application Centre.
