Is this visa for you?

Indian passport holders on a sightseeing trip to Japan, up to 90 days.

Who can apply

People living in Singapore with an Employment Pass, S Pass, Dependant's Pass or PR. Your pass must be valid for the whole trip and your return to Singapore. If you live in your home country, apply at the Japanese embassy there; we can't help with that.

What you can do

Sightseeing.

What is not allowed

Visiting friends or relatives, business, work and study.

How long it takes

Apply more than 16 business days before you fly (not more than 3 months before).

Before you apply

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you apply. You must stay in Singapore while the application is processed, and you complete live face verification yourself on the official site. When the eVISA is issued, you show the visa issuance notice online at the airport; a PDF, screenshot or printout is not accepted. The eVISA is only for a trip that is purely sightseeing. If any part of the trip is a stay with friends or relatives, a business meeting or similar, you need a paper application instead, so ask us before you start. Use only the official JAPAN eVISA through VFS Singapore; Japan's foreign ministry warns about lookalike eVISA websites. Need a multiple-entry visa? Ask us on WhatsApp.

What to bring

  • Scan of your passport photo page (the passport needs at least 1 blank page)
  • Declaration form, signed by hand and dated within 1 week of submission
  • A passport photo (45 x 35 mm, white background, taken within the last 6 months, no glasses; photo booth photos are not accepted)
  • Your Singapore ID or pass, front and back (EP, S Pass, DP or PR card)
  • A SGWorkPass app QR code reading, scanned within the last 5 days (EP, S Pass or DP with a QR code)
  • Proof of work or study: an employment certificate issued within the last month (position, salary and join date), an ACRA profile issued within the last 3 months (business owners), or a student certificate
  • Round-trip flight details from and back to Singapore (you do not need to buy the ticket yet)
  • Your schedule of stay in Japan
  • Proof of funds: your latest IRAS Notice of Assessment or the last 2 months of your bank statements (all pages), or, if someone in your immediate family is paying, their sponsorship letter, proof of relationship and their own financial documents

FAQs

Who submits my application?

You do. Japan's eVISA is tied to your own account, and you complete the live face check and sign the declaration yourself. Japan allows a proxy only when a parent applies for a child. We cannot use your account, but we can go through your documents with you before you submit.

How early should I apply?

Apply more than 16 business days before you fly, and not more than 3 months before. There is no express service, so apply well ahead of your booking.

What will I pay Japan?

Japan's visa fee depends on your passport. The price card lists it once we have confirmed it for your passport; until then it is confirmed before you pay. On top of it, the VFS service fee is SGD 22.00, which is not refunded. You pay Japan and VFS directly, not us. If the visa is not issued, the visa fee can be refunded, but the VFS service fee is not.

Can I apply myself?

Yes. You apply yourself on the official JAPAN eVISA through VFS Singapore (visa.vfsglobal.com/sgp/en/jpn/apply-e-visa), and pay Japan and VFS directly. If you would like us to check your documents and guide you through it, our service fee is SGD 100.00 per traveller, and we give half our fee (SGD 50.00) back if Japan refuses your visa.

Is the online eVISA right for my trip?

Yes, if the trip is only sightseeing, which is what this page covers. If any part of the trip is a stay with friends or relatives, a business meeting or similar, Japan needs a paper application instead. Ask us and we will point you to the right route.
